It’s been in development for many months and there’s a long way still to go, but we wanted to share with you our excitement at a game we’ve been planning since 2017:
Those of you who know your geography may recognise South-East England in that logo. If you understand the green dotted lines too, this game is absolutely for you: Those are the sectors within 11 Group during the Battle of Britain.
There are many BoB games. Most of them give you the thrill and danger of flying in the battle, either defending against the German assault or participating in it. Some offer you the chance to manage the battle too; designating the response to incoming raids.
AOC Tutela Cordis doesn’t give you the big picture control, the individual aircraft control, even let you manage an airfield or a squadron. You take on a very specific role: Air Officer Commanding.
The game constrains you to what Air Chief Marshall Sir Keith Park could do during the Battle of Britain. He could make operational command decisions and issue orders.
That doesn’t sound like a lot but the inputs to those decisions and the consequences of the orders are everything. Stepping into his role in the Uxbridge control room can you defend the heartland of England, prevent German success and yet somehow keep 11 Group an effective fighting force?
